Scope
This statement covers westholt.nl and the Westholt Games teaser sites vonkoryn.westholt.nl and skysnatch.westholt.nl. For privacy questions, email info@westholt.nl. Our games, their advertisements and the beta sign-up on westholt-rising.eu are covered by the privacy information provided with those services.
When you email us
We receive your email address, your name if provided and the contents of your message. We use these details to answer your question and follow up. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling enquiries. Details needed for a contract are processed to fulfil that contract. Please do not send sensitive personal information.
Contact and newsletter
The contact form collects your email address, optional name and message. We use these details to answer your enquiry, on the same legal bases and retention terms as email correspondence. Contacting us does not subscribe you to the newsletter. Newsletter subscription voluntarily collects your email address and preferred language, based on your consent. After selecting the consent box you receive a confirmation email; only after confirmation is your subscription forwarded to Westholt Games. We keep the confirmed address, language and consent evidence in our email administration while you are subscribed. Unconfirmed requests expire after 48 hours and are removed during the next form processing. The newsletter contains occasional news about our games, development, betas and releases. Unsubscribe through the contact page or info@westholt.nl. Each newsletter includes an unsubscribe option. We process requests as soon as possible and delete newsletter data within one month, unless a specific legal obligation requires longer retention. Unsubscribing does not affect contact with us or playing our games.
Forms, language and website use
This website uses no advertising trackers, analytics code or embedded videos. Forms are processed on our STRATO hosting and use no cookies. Images and scripts load from our own website. Your language choice is not stored in your browser. To prevent abuse, the form stores a one-way hash of the IP address with a request time and counter for up to 24 hours; expired entries are removed during the next processing. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in securing the forms.
Hosting and service providers
The website is hosted by STRATO. When you load a website, the hosting server receives technical details such as your IP address, the requested URL and browser information. These may be processed in server logs to deliver and secure the website and investigate faults. Our email provider also processes messages to deliver email. We do not sell your personal data.
How long do we keep data?
We keep correspondence as needed to handle your request and delete ordinary enquiries no later than twelve months after the last follow-up. Messages needed for an ongoing agreement, dispute or legal retention obligation may be kept longer. Technical server logs follow the retention settings of the hosting service; you can request more information from us.
Links to games and other websites
An external website opens only when you click its link. The destination may use its own cookies, sign-up forms or other data processing. Read its privacy information. This statement does not cover those other websites.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data. Depending on the circumstances, you can also object, request restricted processing or data portability. Email info@westholt.nl. We normally respond within one month. We may ask for information to confirm your identity but do not routinely request a full copy of your ID. You can complain to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

If new website features process personal data, we will update this statement. The date above indicates the most recent update.
